Directions to 2008 Meets
Hornet/Red Devil Invitational @ KLM, Hinsdale

Saturday, Sept. 6
Go east on 55th Street to County Line Rd. Turn right
(south) and go about ¾ of a mile to the Katherine
Legge Memorial Park entrance at the south end of the
park, on the east side of County Line Rd. Park in
lot on west end of park and walk to the course
start/ finish area on the east side of the park.
Peoria Woodruff Invitational @ Detweiler Park,
Peoria
Saturday, Sept. 13
Take I-55 south to I-80. Take 80 west to Route 29
(exit says 180/ Hennepin/to Peoria). Stay on 29 south.
Once past the town of Chillicothe, begin watching
for Detweiler Park on the right side. The IIlinois
River will be on your left. Detweiler Park is
located on the northern edge of Peoria on Route 29.
Dual Meet vs. OPRF @ Schiller Woods, OPRF Home
Course
Thursday, Sept. 18
Take Route 83 north to Irving Park Road (19). Irving
Park Road is in the Bensenville area and you will
reach it soon after passing Fenton High School on
your right. The entrance to Irving Park is a bit
tricky, as the signs will direct you through a side
street in a residential neighborhood to wind around
to Irving Park. Pay attention to the signs after
passing Fenton H.S. Go east on Irving Park. After
passing River Road (the last stoplight before the
forest preserves begin), Schiller Woods will soon be
visible on your left. Continue heading east and turn
into the last parking lot entrance on your left
before reaching Cumberland Road. If you reach the
stoplight at Cumberland, you have just passed the
parking lot entrance.
Tri Meet vs. York, Glenbard West @ East End
Park, Elmhurst
Thursday, Sept. 25
Take Route 83 north to North Avenue. Turn right and
go east to Berteau Avenue (this is just before you
reach the overpass at I-294). Turn right on Berteau
and go to Third Street. Go left on Third and this
will take you right to the park. This is York’s home
course.
Palatine Invitational
@ Deer Grove East Forest
Preserve
Saturday, Sept. 27
Take I-355/53 north. Continue on 53 past Woodfield
and exit west on Dundee Road. Go approximately two
miles (1/4 mile west of Hicks road) and you will see
the entrance for Deer Grove East Forest Preserve.
This is Palatine High School’s home course.
PALATINE PARKING OPTIONS
1) The Deer Grove East course is in a
Cook County Forest Preserve. There is
parking available there soon after
turning into the entrance off of Dundee
Road and further in near the
start/finish areas. Parking is limited
and this option is probably best for
those getting to the meet very early.
2) This may be the best option for most
fans. There is a neighborhood directly
across the street from the forest
preserve entrance (instead of turning
right into Deer Grove, go left into the
neighborhood). Parking is allowed. Walk
across Dundee Road to the course.
3) Continue west on Dundee Road past the
entrance to the forest preserve. Go
about π mile and there is a small
parking lot. You can then walk in the
back entrance to the forest preserve.
NOTE: For those getting there early,
they are closing the entrance to cars
(you can still walk in from the
neighborhood across the street) for
about 3/4 hour from 8:15-9:00am. This is
due to a road race that will be passing
through the preserve on the bike path
that runs through Deer Grove. |

Wheaton North Classic @ Northside Park,
Wheaton
Saturday, Oct. 4
Take I-88 west to Naperville Road north. Go north on
Naperville Road to Roosevelt Road. Turn left and go
west on Roosevelt Road to Main Street. Turn right
and take Main Street north to Harrison Street. Turn
left and go west on Harrison to West Street. Turn
right on West Street and travel north to Northside
Park. West Street dead ends at the park.

WSC Conference Meet @ Proviso West High School
Saturday, Oct. 18
Take Route 83 north to Roosevelt Road. Go east on
Roosevelt to Wolf Road. Turn left and go north on
Wolf about ½ mile to the Proviso west High School
entrance. Park in the lot near the field
house/indoor track. The start and finish area of the
course is on the southeast side of the school, east
of (behind) the indoor track.
Regional Meet @ KLM
Saturday, Oct. 25
Sectional Meet @ Reavis High School in
(Burbank)
Saturday, Nov. 1
Take I-55 North toward Chicago. Exit at LaGrange
Road and go south. Merge onto 171(Archer) toward
79th Street. Stay right onto 79th Street and go east
on 79th. Just past Narragansett Ave., go left on
Moody (side street; no stop light). Moody will dead
end at the school. Parking will be available in the
Driver Ed. Lot as well as all along 77th Street.
